Mutasingwa Distributes 200 Piglets to Women, Supports Churches in Buikwe
Buikwe District Woman MP and Minister of State in the Office of the Vice President, Hon Diana Mutasingwa, has supported women’s economic empowerment and church activities through donations in Nyenga Division, Njeru Municipality.
The initiative included the distribution of 200 piglets and animal feeds to women attending the All Women’s Conference at Gomati Church in Gomati Village.
200 Piglets to Boost Women’s Livelihoods
Mutasingwa, accompanied by LC3 Chairman Pastor Baamu Moses and evangelists from Vision of Mercy, handed over the piglets and animal feeds to the beneficiaries.
The contribution from Vision of Mercy is intended to help women develop income-generating activities, improve household livelihoods and create opportunities for economic growth.
Mutasingwa expressed gratitude to Vision of Mercy for supporting the initiative, noting that such contributions can help women strengthen their economic position and improve the welfare of their families.
Pig farming can provide households with opportunities to generate income through livestock production and sales. However, its long-term benefits depend on proper animal care, feeding and effective farm management.
Mutasingwa Engages Residents in Butabira
Later, the legislator visited Butabira Village in Namabu Parish, Nyenga Division, where she interacted with residents and listened to their concerns.
The engagement provided an opportunity for community members to share their needs and priorities as local leaders continue interacting with residents.
Mutasingwa said engaging directly with communities remains important in understanding the challenges affecting households and identifying areas requiring attention.
Financial Support, Chairs for Jubilee Church
During the same outreach, Mutasingwa extended financial assistance and donated chairs to Butabira Jubilee Church to support its activities.

She also recognised the contribution of both Gomati Church and Butabira Jubilee Church to the spiritual development of the community.
The legislator expressed appreciation for the churches’ continued role in nurturing faith, uplifting lives and supporting the spiritual well-being of residents.
The activities brought together community engagement, women’s economic empowerment and support for religious institutions, highlighting efforts to address different aspects of community life in Buikwe District.
